LE PONANT is a luxurious sailing yacht with a length of 276.8' (84.22m) and three towering masts that support billowing clouds of white sails. Originally constructed by the celebrated Société Française de Construction Navale (SFCN) shipyard in 1991, the yacht underwent a significant transformation inside and out in 2022 by the Jean-Philippe Nuel Studio. The refurbishment aimed to enhance the yacht's environmental performance and restore its common areas and staterooms to their most exquisite state, complete with luxurious touches that would impress even the most discerning charter guests. The yacht can comfortably accommodate 32 guests in 16 luxurious staterooms, making it an ideal choice for family celebrations and special events in some of the world's most stunning destinations, such as Australasia, Cape Verde and the Caribbean.
The yacht's interior design is timeless and elegant, creating a genuine connection with the outside scenery and landscapes. The overall color palette is neutral, emphasizing the beauty of the external sailing grounds through the use of cream, taupe and caviar grey tones. Pale wood tones further enhance the calm and relaxed ambiance of the social areas. The main deck, known as the Alizés Deck, features a convivial area where guests can gather for welcome cocktails at the bar or morning coffee before embarking on the day's adventures. There are comfortable sofas, chairs and small tables arranged to encourage socializing. The reception desk and welcome lounge are also located on this deck, as well as the gym and spa treatment room, which offers massages and rejuvenating facials.
Guests can enjoy panoramic views while dining as a group in the Le Diamant restaurant on the upper, Zéphyr Deck. Tables are placed to take in the views from the floor-to-ceiling windows while the culinary team serves exceptional fare and wines from French producers, as well as those from the regions visited on charter.
The exterior decks are designed to make the most of the warm weather and stunning views of LE PONANT's sailing grounds. The sun deck offers a vast sunbathing space with sun beds and a bar, which is also used for sundowner cocktails, special guest occasions and morning yoga. The Zéphyr deck provides an alfresco dining area where buffet breakfasts and dinners are served showcasing the finest ingredients. Guests can access the ocean and enjoy LE PONANT's selection of water toys and its saltwater swimming pool from The Marina on the Alizés deck. There's also plenty of space to sunbathe by the water's edge or find a cozy corner to curl up with a book for peaceful moments of reflection.
The yacht's 16 staterooms and suites are distributed across three decks and offer tranquil retreats for all guests. The owner's stateroom takes up the majority of the upper deck and features space for dining, a living room, a separate bedroom, a large ensuite bathroom and an enormous balcony with outdoor seating and outstanding views across the sea. A further four staterooms with outdoor balconies and charming seating areas are situated on the main deck, while the remaining cabins are on the lower deck, some with lounge areas and a larger footprint. All of the staterooms have dedicated ensuites and pleasing neutral décor, and either wide windows or portholes that allow for an abundance of natural light.
LE PONANT's experienced crew of 34 takes every opportunity to unfurl her magnificent sails and to cruise from point to point using nothing but the power of the wind. The crew includes an expedition leader, naturalist, beautician and sports coach to provide guests with an unforgettable charter vacation.
