RAMBLER is a 2010 True North 38 built by Pearson Composites and completed in 2011. Delivered new to a French showroom, she remained unused until 2016 when she underwent a full inspection, equipment installation, and sea trials at the Pearson factory in Rhode Island. She is now turnkey and located in Newport Beach, California.
Measuring 41’6” with a 3’ 6” draft, RAMBLER features a semi-displacement Downeast hull built with resin-infused, cored fiberglass. Her flared bow and high freeboard provide a dry, stable ride, while the bow thruster ensures easy handling.
In 2022, she received plenty of upgrades, including a new Yanmar 6LY 440hp engine with under 150 hours (current), a serviced AquaDrive system, and an upgraded PSS shaft seal. Electrical upgrades included a Victron charger/inverter, AGM batteries, and a DC-DC thruster charger. Comfort systems were enhanced with new 16,000 and 6,000 BTU Dometic AC units, a new water pump, and a 5kW Northern Lights generator with just 28 hours (current).
Her electronics suite was modernized with a Raymarine Axiom Pro 12 S MFD, digital radar, autopilot, and Class B AIS. LED lighting, JL Audio speakers, a NeoChef microwave, USB ports, and new running lights complete the update. The hull was repainted Flag Blue with a white boot stripe, and the cockpit was upgraded with a custom Strataglass enclosure and Sunbrella seating.
The 12-foot-long cockpit includes reconfigurable seating and two removable varnished tables, with twin transom doors leading to a large flush swim platform. Wide side decks and an electric windlass on the bow provide secure access forward.
The pilothouse galley includes a stainless sink, propane cooktop, Frigoboat refrigerator, and microwave. The adjacent salon has a U-shaped settee, adjustable table, and converts to a guest berth. The forward stateroom features a V-berth, teak finishes, and access to a private head with separate shower.
With cruising speeds of 25 knots and a top end of 30, RAMBLER combines fuel efficiency, comfort, and performance. Her recent overhaul and upgrades make her an exceptional offering in the Downeast cruiser market, blending traditional styling with modern reliability and ease of ownership.
