Built in 2007, the 130-foot (39.63m) Overmaine Mangusta motor yacht AFRICAN CAT is the perfect combination of style, elegance, and high performance. A member of the Mangusta 130 series, AFRICAN CAT has all the celebrated hallmarks of a yacht in this range with the added uniqueness that comes from a bespoke interior, which was designed by Earlcrown of London.
AFRICAN CAT features a timelessly stylish exterior design by Stefano Righini. Her hull is crafted in GRP. The yacht boasts a 25-foot (7.76m) beam and a draft of four feet (1.35m). This shallow draft allows the yacht to visit virtually any destination, including low-lying islands and ports of call. Twin MTU engines and Kamewa jet drives, allow AFRICAN CAT to comfortably reach a top speed of 32 knots. She cruises at 25 knots. AFRICAN CAT has benefitted from light private use since her launch and so she offers low running hours. Also, because she has been used sparingly, she presents in exceptional condition. Her full maintenance history is available to interested parties.
The contemporary interior of AFRICAN CAT is sleek. Luxurious interior touches are found throughout the yacht, including Lalique crystal fittings, Italian marble, high gloss wenge wood and chrome. The spacious main deck is bathed in natural light thanks to large windows to both port and starboard. The main salon has a comfortable sofa and coffee table where guests can relax. Forward of the salon is a large dining table set under an oversized sliding roof that seamlessly creates an indoor/outdoor experience aboard.
Twelve guests are comfortable accommodated aboard AFRICAN CAT in five spacious, well-laid-out staterooms, all of which are located on the lower deck. The full-beam master has a private study and abundant storage space. The en-suite bathroom is spacious and features a mosaic hamman. AFRICAN CAT’s additional staterooms include a VIP located forward, two doubles and a bunk stateroom, each of which is outfitted with an en-suite bathroom that is finished in Italian marble. Seven or eight crewmembers are accommodated astern in four crew cabins that access the crew mess, a galley and the yacht’s laundry facilities.
The on-deck spaces of AFRICAN CAT allow guests to truly enjoy all the on-water lifestyle has to offer. Her foredeck is the perfect place to soak in the rays on an oversized sunpad or enjoy secluded dining and the aft deck is primed for alfresco meals with all guests. It also has a large rear-facing sunpad. The roof of the yacht’s superstructure can be used as an outdoor gym and exercise space if desired.
