SAILING YACHT MARISKA FOR SALE WITH NORTHROP & JOHNSON

Posted February 15, 2019 in Brokerage & New Build by Morgan Crowe

Designed by the world-famous William Fife III and built at the William Fife & Son boatyard, MARISKA is one of only four 15-meter Class yachts that remain.

In total, 20 of these magnificent yachts were built between 1907 and 1917, at which time they were the cutting-edge race yachts of the day, highly favored by the aristocracy. MARISKA was built for A.K. Stothert, one of the most acclaimed sailors at the time.

Bought by her current owner in 2007, MARISKA needed a great deal of work and so began her incredibly comprehensive restoration; it lasted two and half years and comprised 25,000 hours of effort. During this time, the yacht was completely stripped to bare frames and restored from the keel up. She re-launched in September 2009 and was racing again later that month, securing two impressive second place finishes in the Coupe d'Automne YCF and Les Voiles de St. Tropez.

Since then MARISKA has continued to build a spectacular palmares, which includes winning the 15-meter Class Annual Trophy in 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2016. MARISKA won the Giraglia, Puerto Sherry, San Remo and St Tropez in 2016; this was a season that perfectly demonstrates the astonishing capability of this superb yacht and crew.

MARISKA is offered fully prepared for the 2017 season ready to race or to cruise, as is your preference. If racing is your choice then the expert crew who have so successfully sailed her since 2009 are prepared and the season’s logistics have already been meticulously planned.
