DARK HORSE Nautor Swan 80FD Yacht Sold

Northrop & Johnson is pleased to announce the sale of DARK HORSE, the Nautor Swan 80FD, with Yacht Broker Sean McCarter representing the buyer. The yacht was last asking €3,700,000.

Delivered in 2013 as the fourth and final Swan 80FD built, DARK HORSE is a full-carbon sailing yacht constructed using SPRINT/pre-preg carbon technology. Her specification is centered on performance, with a flush deck, customized deck layout, carbon and titanium deck hardware, upgraded hydraulic carbon winches and a high-modulus carbon Hall Spars mast and V-boom with Future Fibres EC6 carbon rigging.

Her racing history includes class victories in the Fort Lauderdale to Palm Beach race and Ibiza JoySail. The hull was 3D scanned and underwent weight and stability analysis by a world champion ORC naval architect.

Finished in hand-rubbed satin teak, DARK HORSE accommodates nine guests in three double cabins. A separate office incorporates another Pullman berth, while dedicated crew quarters are positioned forward.

DARK HORSE has been maintained by a full-time professional crew since delivery and serviced annually through Nautor Swan Global Service. Recent attention has included servicing and refinishing of the mast, factory inspection and re-braiding of the EC6 rig cables, factory servicing of the Reckmann hydraulic furler, a Hall Spars rig engineering study, transom repainting, new refrigeration systems and hydraulic and mechanical servicing.
