Northrop & Johnson is pleased to announce the listing of the 39.95m (131’1”) Wally 130 BLACK SAILS, offered for sale with Yacht Brokers Ed Dickinson and Sean McCarter at an asking price of €10,900,000 (EU VAT paid).
Delivered in 2009, BLACK SAILS is one of the most recognizable sailing yachts launched by Wally. Her naval architecture is by Javier Soto Acebal with exterior styling by Amanda Levete, resulting in a yacht that combines performance-driven design with a bold, all-black aesthetic.
Her history includes a significant rebuild at Lürssen in 2010, with Harrison Eidsgaard redesigning the interiors and Vedder GmbH carrying out the outfitting. Exterior updates included new teak decks and a reconfigured deck structure. That project was awarded the World Superyacht Award for Best Refit in 2011. A further refit at Hinckley Yachts followed in 2013, and under current ownership she has seen regular investment through annual upgrades and enhancements.
Performance has always been central to her design brief. BLACK SAILS carries a Hall Spars high-modulus carbon rig with EC6 carbon standing rigging. Her sail plan is adaptable, with options for efficient short-handed cruising or a more powerful regatta setup. Her 450hp MAN engine delivers an 11-knot cruising speed under power.
On the exterior, the open transom serves as a sea-level terrace, and the main cockpit can be shaded by a retractable awning system. A standout feature is her free-standing dining and lounge furniture, which can be arranged for private dinners, cleared entirely for racing, or reconfigured for larger gatherings.
The interiors by Harrison Eidsgaard take a deliberately pared-back approach. The main salon features a lounge to starboard and a formal dining table to port, with large windows ensuring a bright and open atmosphere. Accommodation is arranged for up to 11 guests in four cabins. The master suite features a queen-size bed and ensuite shower room, while two guest cabins are convertible between twin and double layouts with Pullman beds. A fourth cabin, currently arranged as an office, also converts into a guest cabin with bunks. All guest spaces are ensuite. Crew quarters accommodate five.
With EU VAT paid and a history of continual investment, she is presented in turn-key condition.
