My Present: My name is Monty and I'm a Yacht Sales Associate for Northrop & Johnson in Monaco. I help the selling process feel seamless and stress-free for yacht owners, and ensure that for buyers, the experience is exactly what it should be — fun. My Past: I was born in England and moved to the South of France at the age of three, where I grew up in a small village called Èze. As the son of a yacht captain and a yacht chef, I naturally developed a love for boats. As a child, I was obsessed with yacht-watching, and after seeing the Maltese Falcon cruise along the coast, I decided I wanted to design yachts for a living. That idea was quickly shelved after I realised that I was terrible at drawing, and instead, I spent my summers working as a deckhand on boats between Nice and Monaco. After earning a degree in Computer Science from the University of Exeter, I returned to the yachting world with the clear goal of becoming a yacht broker. I started out as a data analyst at Camper & Nicholsons, then joined Northrop & Johnson in 2024 — initially working on the data side before joining the sales team. My Future: As much as I think I know about yachts, I’m always learning more—from the wealth of experience at Northrop & Johnson, the captains and crew we work with, and the clients I’m fortunate to build long-standing relationships with. This industry is constantly evolving, and I’m excited to continue growing within it. My Life Outside of the Office: Outside of work, I’m usually somewhere outdoors — running along the coastal roads of the Riviera, swimming in the sea during the warmer months, or skiing in the mountains in winter. My Motto: If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got.
