My Present
Hello, my name is Sarah; I am a charter broker at N&J with over 20 years’ experience. I recently joined this dynamic and forward-thinking company and am delighted to be part of this energetic team.

My Past
I was raised on the sea, as my parents owned a classic sailing yacht that we kept in the Mediterranean. I grew up in France and Italy and was lucky enough to learn the languages and cultures of those countries as a child. In my teens I moved to the UK where I later completed a degree in French and Russian. It was still quite unusual to study Russian at the time, but it was a fascinating era and I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to live in Russia at the very end of the Soviet Union and experience a very different way of life. After graduating, I headed to the South of France where the lure of the sea was irresistible and I soon joined a 164’ (50m) Feadship as a junior stewardess; over the following years I worked my way up to chief stewardess of a 246’ (75m) motor yacht, which was the largest and most prestigious charter yacht at the time. I travelled extensively and had the privilege of seeing some of the most beautiful regions in the world. I eventually settled in the South of France and became a charter broker in 2001.

My Future
I enjoy continually learning from what I do professionally and life in general, it’s important to maintain a fresh perspective and enthusiasm in order to get the maximum job satisfaction and offer the best possible service to my clients so that they keep coming back. There is nothing more rewarding than building relationships and understanding what my clients enjoy so that I can match them with the best yachts and crew to ensure that they have the very best experiences. In the coming year I would like to become more actively involved in what we can do as an industry to help protect our oceans. In order to continue to enjoy the splendour of our seas, it’s crucial that we learn to give back and use the innovations of our industry to benefit nature.

My Motto
“We can’t become what we need to be by remaining what we are.
Don’t go through life, grow through life…”

My Outside-office Life
I love to travel; I find going to new places and meeting new people very invigorating and enriching. I enjoy learning new things. At the moment, I am learning to play the guitar and am taking horse riding lessons, as my dream is to ride across the Mongolian steps.

Fast Facts

  • I used to sing in a rock band
