MUSTANG 83’ (25.3m) Camper & Nicholsons Yacht for Sale

Posted August 19, 2026 in Brokerage & New Build

Northrop & Johnson is pleased to announce the 83′ (25.3m) sailing yacht MUSTANG is now offered for sale with Yacht Broker Bill Titus. With four circumnavigations behind her, she brings a proven global cruising record together with a distinctive build pedigree, performance-focused design and extensive refit history. MUSTANG is now offered by a very motivated seller with an asking price of $995,000 and is currently located in East Greenwich, RI.

Originally commissioned by an experienced American yachtsman, MUSTANG is based on Doug Peterson’s Ocean 80 performance hull, built by Southern Ocean Shipyard. The hull was extended by three feet to create a large lazarette before the yacht was sent to Camper & Nicholsons Shipyard. Her construction features a fiberglass (GRP) hull and superstructure, solid laminate below the waterline and end-balsa-cored fiberglass above, complemented by teak decks.

Central to MUSTANG’s cruising credentials is her fully enclosed pilothouse, which combines the helm and lounge and opens directly into the lower salon. Yacht operations can be managed from the pilothouse, while a single person at the exterior helm can operate the steering, furlers and primary sail trim. Designed with practical operation in mind, MUSTANG can be sailed by two or three people and accommodates up to three crew.

During MUSTANG’s 2018/2019 refit, her 2007 in-mast furling rig was removed, refurbished and repainted, while the standing and running rigging, including the rod standing rigging, were replaced. The yacht was also fully repainted and received new decks, winches, deck hardware and hatches, along with updated electronics and galley equipment. Four new sails were added in December 2020. The small generator was replaced in 2018, followed by the main engine and larger generator in 2021. Further maintenance during her August 2022 haul-out included bottom paint, rudder servicing, new zincs and checks of the thru-hulls and underwater equipment.

Below deck, MUSTANG accommodates six guests in three aft en-suite staterooms, with two additional cabins and a head forward for up to three crew. Her classic teak interior provides a traditional counterpoint to her performance heritage and modernized systems.
