Hotel La Palma, Capri, Italy

Hotel Palma by the Pool

It may have been around for 200 years, but following major renovations, Capri’s first-ever hotel is set to re-open for the summer season. With fifty spacious rooms, each with its own balcony, the all-white property is the first Italian hotel to fall under the Oetker Collection umbrella. Given that their pedigreed portfolio already includes the Eden Rock in St Barths and the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, there is no doubt that the Hotel La Palma will become a firm favorite for the yachting crowd cruising one of the most iconic islands in the Mediterranean.

Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa, Raa Atoll, Maldives

Faarufushi Hotel Aerial View

Set on a 14.8-acre island in the Raa Atoll, the Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa has been developed – and will operate – in a responsible and sustainable way. Designed to celebrate the beauty of the surrounding environment, the resort comprises 80 villas, including one Presidential Villa, along with a spa with eight wellness suites, a steam room and a yoga pavilion. Day-to-day initiatives include limiting plastic usage, using bicycles to navigate the island, composting waste and using solar panels for energy.

Borgo Santandrea, Amalfi Coast, Italy

Borgo Santandrea by the Water

Technically, the Borgo Santandrea opened in 2021, but with the ever-changing travel restrictions in Italy, this haven’s debut didn’t receive the attention it deserves. In typical Amalfi style, the property is perched on a clifftop 90 meters above sea level, with spectacular views over the coastline from just about every vantage point. The resort’s 29 rooms and 16 suites feature scenic terraces that spill out onto stylish gardens cascading down the cliffside to a private sandy beach – the only one of its kind on the Amalfi Coast.

Villa Passalacqua, Lake Como, Italy

Villa Passalacqua at Night by Lake Como

It may not be a cruising destination for superyachts, but the classic destination of Lake Como is a firm favorite of the yachting crowd. Adding to an impressive inventory of Lake Como hotels, the Passalacqua is located in a renovated 18th-century villa that sits above the village of Moltrasio with gardens that run down to the lakeshore. It joins sister property Grand Hotel Tremezzo, one of the world’s most iconic hotels, whose team is responsible for the major renovation. Expect lakeside tennis courts and an open-air cinema, along with 24 suites, a spa and a gym.

One&Only Aesthesis, Athens, Greece

OneandOnly Aesthesis Pool View

Following One&Only’s European opening of the One&Only Montenegro in 2021, this year sees a new Grecian escape opening its doors on the Athenian Riviera. The One&Only Aesthesis is a private oceanfront estate with a beach club, restaurants and a Chenot spa. Guests are accommodated in secluded villas with private pools designed in natural stone and timber in a style that is in keeping with the resort’s stunning surroundings.
