In order to maintain her high pedigree, FELICITA WEST underwent a refit in 2011 and in April 2014, she sailed into West Palm Beach, Florida, and into the capable hands of Rybovich superyacht marina and refit yard, where she was in for a long haul.
According to her captain Stephen Edwards, she was in for the works. FELICITA WEST’s rig was pulled out and she received a brand-shiny-new paint job. There were class-required items to tick off the refit list, such as shaft lines and rudder bearings, which had to be removed for inspection. Other system-level pieces needed replacing, such as a monitoring system, which was a complicated and invasive process, but gave FELICITA WEST a top-of-the-line, state-of-the-art security system. The exhaust system was replaced as was the air conditioning and various other mechanical overhauls.
Entering a shipyard can be exceptionally stressful for a captain, especially one with a deadline, as of now, FELICITA WEST is set to appear in the 2014 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, but the expertise and refit management at Rybovich shipyard, along with the skills and planning of Capt. Edwards ensured a painless refit process for FELICITA WEST. They were on track down to the day of pulling out her rig as well as putting it back in and getting her in the water — which is what she is made for.
FELICITA WEST is a fast, stunning sailing yacht made for long-range cruising and that’s what Edwards is most looking forward to. Her highly impressive pedigree and design push the boundaries of performance and her interior is impeccably styled offering the ultimate in comfort and luxury for owners or guests.
