Cantieri di Pisa is one of the oldest and most famous shipyards in Italy with over 70 years of activity. Established in 1945, the Cantieri di Pisa shipyard rose to fame during the 1960s, when it conceived a popular series of motor yachts named after the stars of the Eridanus constellation.
The shipyard was acquired by the Camuzzi Group in 2005 who, at the same time, purchased Baglietto. Unfortunately, Camuzzi succumbed to the world financial crisis which closely followed this purchase, and Cantieri di Pisa was closed in 2010.
In 2015, the shipyard was bought by Mondomarine and Luca Dini was hired to redesign the Akhir and Katalpha motor yacht series. When Mondomarine then went into liquidation, Cantieri di Pisa closed its doors yet again.
At the end of 2018, Cantieri di Pisa was acquired by Sea-Finance, a group of investors that includes Philippe Bacou; yacht owner and founder of the online yacht charter service, Yotha. The investment group handpicks companies in order to form strategic partnerships, and their mission for Cantieri di Pisa is to continue evolving the yard’s tradition, comfort and innovation while building the best quality yachts possible.
