My Present
Hi, I’m Vanessa Jiron, Chief of Staff at Northrop & Johnson. My role involves close collaboration with N&J’s President & COO, helping to oversee day-to-day tasks and long-term projects for various divisions of the company. I oversee all staffing globally and am part of the executive team, helping drive action and evolution in the company. I enjoy the opportunity to work closely with our people, building out new offices and learning from each and every person along the way. Every day brings new challenges and possibilities which makes my job both exciting and inspiring.
My Past
After being born and raised in Pakistan, my four siblings and I were brought over to the U.S. by my parents at age 10. My desire to see the world prompted my previous career as an International flight attendant. I then relocated from San Francisco to Fort Lauderdale and landed in the yachting industry working as an executive assistant to the president of a U.S. yacht builder. Before joining N&J, I worked as an administrative assistant coordinating boat shows as well as accounting. I’ve garnered years of experience and expertise in the everchanging industry throughout my roles as Group Coordinator, Event Coordinator, Office Manager, and for the past three years, Director of Administration, where I was responsible for overseeing the global administration. My 20 years in the yachting industry, and 10 years at Northrop & Johnson, have given me valuable hands-on experience to move up the ranks.
My Future
I’d like to continue to grow and learn in the company, better developing my position as Chief of Staff along the way.
My Motto
You won't know unless you ask, if you don’t, the answer is always no.
My Outside-office Life
In my time spent outside of the office, my family and I love to visit theme parks and flex our rollercoaster-junkie muscles. Our close proximity to Disney allows us to take trips to The Happiest Place On Earth as often as we’d like and spend time together as a family.
