My Present
Hello! I'm Katie Rodriguez, Training & Development Specialist at Northrop & Johnson. In my role, I get the opportunity to provide clear and engaging training on existing and new technological programs. I work with everyone across each department to create smooth processes that help us all reach our goals together. Seeing people achieve their objectives, big or small, is extremely rewarding. Whether it's helping someone grasp a program they're already using or creating a structure that helps their team hit the bullseye, I'm all about making growth happen. I enjoy figuring out the best way for each person to learn. It's like connecting the dots and finding that "aha" moment that makes everything click. Seeing someone succeed on their unique learning journey is simply the best.
My Past
I'm a first-generation Cuban American, born in Miami but raised across various parts of sunny Florida. My professional adventure started as an Executive Assistant to a top Financial Advisor while I worked my way toward earning my Bachelor's degree. From there, I climbed the ladder, taking on roles like tech support, Head of Technology and Head of Practice Development within a financial firm. After building out the Tech and Practice Development departments, I took a detour and worked as a Senior Project Manager for a CRM consultant firm. It was then that I was reminded of just how much I appreciate being able to serve and train others.
My Future
There's a quote by Seneca that resonates with me: "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity." Right now, I'm fully embracing the present, achieving the goals I've set for myself and soaking in the lessons that have come with these chapters and accomplishments. As for my future goals, it's an open canvas ready to be painted with new inspirations.
I have a personal mission to keep a plant alive for longer than a year (fingers crossed!) and explore more incredible places on my bucket list.

My Outside-office Life
When I'm not at work, I spend precious time with my amazing teenage son, who never fails to make me laugh like a paid comedian. I love going on solo adventures, from checking out random events and concerts to open mics, indoor rock climbing and trying out new arcades. Nothing like God and a good adventure to fire up your soul! :)
