Northrop & Johnson Welcomes Mateo Betancurth as Charter Manager in Fort Lauderdale

Northrop & Johnson is pleased to announce the addition of Mateo Betancurth to its global team as Charter Manager, based in the Fort Lauderdale office.

Mateo brings to Northrop & Johnson a comprehensive understanding of the yachting industry, bolstered by a professional background that spans finance, real estate, and charter management. His diverse experience allows him to deliver the high standard of white-glove service Northrop & Johnson clients have come to expect.

Before joining Northrop & Johnson, Mateo worked with the world’s leading luxury real estate firm, a major U.S. bank, and two prominent yachting companies. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a remarkable ability to understand client needs and provide tailored solutions with professionalism and care.

Born in Manizales, Colombia, and raised in Miami, Mateo developed an early passion for the sea, initially attending nautical school before earning an A.S. in General Business Administration and Management from Miami Dade College. He later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Finance from Florida International University.

Fluent in English and Spanish, and currently studying Portuguese and Italian, Mateo’s multicultural perspective enhances his ability to connect with clients and colleagues from around the world.
