Northrop & Johnson Welcomes Alex Higby as Yacht Salesperson

Northrop & Johnson is pleased to announce the addition of Alex Higby to its team as Yacht Salesperson. Based in San Diego, Alex brings a wealth of hands-on sailing and racing expertise, combined with a deep understanding of the yachting industry.

Alex’s career in yachting began on the south coast of England, where he grew up sailing dinghies with his father. His passion quickly evolved into a professional path, starting with an apprenticeship at North Sails. From there, he joined Emirates Team New Zealand for the 34th America’s Cup and later became part of the victorious Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing campaign as an under-30 sailor in the Volvo Ocean Race. Since then, Alex has competed at the highest levels of the sport, including the 52 Super Series and Extreme Sailing Series.

This extensive background in the yacht racing scene uniquely positions Alex to guide clients through the purchase and sale of their yachts. His approach combines technical knowledge, firsthand sailing experience, and a client-focused perspective to deliver tailored solutions.
