Delivered by Naval Yachts in 2023, VANGUARD is an XPM 78 platform built for long-range cruising with an emphasis on efficiency, autonomy, and advanced system integration.

VANGUARD has just returned following a successful 7,000 nautical mile voyage encompassing the U.S. Atlantic Coast and an expedition into Greenland’s High Arctic waters with two experienced ice pilots onboard.

VANGUARD’s propulsion is delivered through a diesel-electric Praxis hybrid system, supported by an onboard energy management network. She cruises at nine knots with a fuel burn of 3.5L/ nautical mile, offering a range of over 7,000 nautical miles. Her ice-reinforced hull, DMS Magnus Master stabilizers, and commercial-grade dynamic positioning system underscore her ability to operate confidently in remote and variable conditions.

Her interior, designed by Arista Marine, follows a clean and functional open-plan layout. The galley, helm, and salon are arranged on the main deck with clear sightlines and practical flow. Interior finishes feature pale timbers with dark contrast elements, and the helm is equipped with dual high-back chairs and a wide-format multi-display dash.

VANGUARD accommodates six guests in three en-suite staterooms, with a convertible salon allowing space for two additional guests. The full-beam owner’s cabin includes a centered king berth and lounge seating.

On deck, her layout prioritizes operational functionality. A tender crane and storage are located aft on the main deck alongside L-shaped guest seating. The flybridge helm seats two, and dual stairways lead down to the swim platform. All exterior areas are optimized for low-maintenance handling and expedition readiness.
