Sold: CHAMPAGNE HIPPY, 2014, 85'10" (26.2m), Oyster Yachts

Northrop & Johnson is pleased to announce the sale of the 85’10” (26.2m) Oyster 825 sailing yacht CHAMPAGNE HIPPY, with Northrop & Johnson Yacht Broker Sean McCarter and Tom Benson of Seymour Yachts representing the seller. The yacht was last asking €3,495,000.

Built by Oyster Yachts in 2014 and extensively refitted in 2022, CHAMPAGNE HIPPY is a blue-water cruiser designed for long-range passagemaking. MCA classed and coded, EU VAT paid and equipped for both private cruising and charter, she offered an exceptional combination of offshore capability, comfort and versatility.

One of the yacht’s defining features is her extended transom, specified as an optional upgrade during construction. This creates a significantly larger aft deck while providing an expansive beach club and storage area, easily accessed via the hydraulic passerelle or internal deck steps. With a 3.5-metre draft and a reputation for covering 250-nautical-mile days under sail, CHAMPAGNE HIPPY has demonstrated impressive real-world performance, including completing the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) in just 15 days, finishing 13th overall and becoming the first Oyster across the finish line.

Her protected cockpit is arranged with separate guest and crew areas, allowing comfortable outdoor dining and relaxation while maintaining efficient sail handling. Biminis and a dodger provide additional shelter for extended cruising in a variety of conditions.

Inside, the contemporary interior is bright and welcoming, with wraparound deck saloon windows flooding the space with natural light. The salon features a generous dining area for eight, a forward-facing navigation station and a fully equipped galley finished with marble countertops and premium appliances.

Accommodation is arranged for up to eight guests in four ensuite staterooms, including a full-beam owner’s suite aft with a private study. Three additional guest cabins provide comfortable accommodation for family and friends, while separate quarters forward house a captain and additional crew.
