Northrop & Johnson is pleased to announce the 98’ (30m) sailing yacht AIZU is now offered for sale with Yacht Broker Sean McCarter, with an asking price of €1,950,000.

Delivered in 1989 by respected French yard Tréhard Marine in Antibes, AIZU was conceived as a serious blue-water cruiser with sailing performance at the core, combining strength, balance and speed for comfortable ocean passages while remaining practical for shallow-water cruising.

Designed by Gilles Vaton, AIZU features clean lines and a powerful sailing plan that rewards active owners. One of her defining attributes is the retractable centreboard keel, allowing draft to reduce to approximately 2.3m for access to shallow anchorages and cruising grounds such as the Bahamas, while extending deep to deliver proper upwind performance and offshore stability.

Her configuration also lends itself exceptionally well to charter. Accommodation is arranged for eight guests across four equal double staterooms, each with ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning, entertainment systems and generous storage, creating an ideal layout for families or groups of friends with no hierarchy between cabins. Separate crew quarters for four support smooth onboard operation without compromising guest privacy.

AIZU has benefited from consistent care and multiple refit periods, most notably a major refit completed in 2023, following earlier upgrades in 2007, 2019, 2020 and 2022. Updates include a refreshed interior and systems, while new sails were added in 2019. She is currently completing her five-year survey with a full rig service, positioning her as a genuinely turn-key opportunity for her next owner.

Interiors by Claesson Koivisto Rune deliver a calm, Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic with American black walnut finishes, warm tones and abundant natural light. A semi-raised saloon with expansive windows keeps the space bright and connected to the sea, with a comfortable lounge to port and formal dining to starboard, making the environment equally suited to life underway or at anchor.

On deck, AIZU offers an expansive and practical layout. The large aft cockpit is configured for dining and socialising with flexible shade, while the foredeck provides generous lounging space. A swim platform and ladder ensure easy water access, complemented by storage for a tender and water toys and a deck shower for post-swim rinses.

Powered by twin Steyr diesel engines and equipped with generators, air conditioning throughout, WiFi and modern navigation electronics, AIZU blends proven sailing credentials with everyday cruising comfort in a package that remains increasingly rare in today’s market.
