Named one of the “World’s 30 Most Luxurious Spas” by Forbes Travel Guide in October 2018, The Spa at Sea Island invigorates guests through an array of curated treatments and amenities. Perennial winner of the Forbes Five-Star award, The Spa offers therapeutic selections to accommodate the needs of every guest, from pampering to playful to fitness-focused. With 65,000 square feet, an expansive fitness center, full-service salon, and 23 treatment rooms, The Spa provides venues for an array of massages, body treatments and skincare services. The Spa’s professionals consult with each guest to tailor a unique experience specific to each one’s needs, from a contemplative walk in the garden labyrinth to lively salon services for a bridal party, or a romantic massage in one of two couples’ suites, which feature a full-sized soaking tub, balcony, stained glass windows, and beautifully appointed furnishings.

Among services offered are the anti-aging “Bring Back the Glow” facial, which sends clock hands spinning backward; the “All the Right Moves” treatment, The Spa’s signature massage combining Thai and Swedish techniques; and “Make Waves, a skin treatment which leaves the skin firm and glowing.

The state-of-the-art fitness center houses an indoor pool, the latest Technogym equipment, and three squash courts. In addition to private studios for cycling, yoga, Pilates reformer and TRX, the center offers such unique classes and venues as meditation in the garden labyrinth, hot yoga in the water atrium with a wood burning fireplace, and outdoor high-intensity interval training on Sea Island’s private beach. Professional fitness trainers provide unique and individualized training and assessments through movement screening, InBody Analysis and a full-body diagnostic assessment, providing challenging and corrective exercises to help guests reach their health goals. Working in tandem with our Nutrition Consultant, guests learn what foods are best for their goals, and go home armed with new knowledge to make their goals achievable.

Sea Island was the first resort in the country to offer whole body cryotherapy, a popular sports recovery technique used in Europe and by professional athletes and A-list celebrities. The treatment replaces the more traditional, lengthy, ice bath with a three-minute experience that feels great anytime, especially after a massage or physical activity.

The Spa and Fitness Center experience supplements the active lifestyle encouraged by Sea Island’s extensive sporting life, which includes world-class golf on three championship courses, golf instruction at the country’s finest Golf Performance Center, tennis on sixteen Har-Tru® clay courts, paddleboarding, sailing, fishing, salt marsh kayaking, hunting, children’s programs, extensive nature options, trap and skeet shooting, as well as energizing, creative special events and conferences with Pulitzer-prize winning authors, National Geographic photographers and explorers, scientists, high-tech experts adept at helping grandparents connect with grandchildren, Downton Abbey weekends with the stars, and more.
