Experience the Excitement and Revelry at Basil’s Bar, Mustique

While cruising the Grenadines, drop anchor and tender ashore to join the fun and revelry at the infamous Basil’s Bar on the private island of Mustique.

As over-water rum shacks go, Basil’s Bar is pretty unbeatable. Many have tried to replicate the cocktail of intangibles that has appealed to generations of party-goers heading to this Caribbean paradise, but no one can ever quite reproduce the essence of Basil’s – or indeed Mustique – itself.

Philippe Starck oversaw a total rebuild of Basil’s in 2018, keeping the DNA of Basil’s fundamentally unchanged while adding a significant sparkle and style to the venue. Jazz and live music pulses from the stage across Caribbean waters and artists fly in from all over the world to play at rum-fueled “Jump Up” parties for guests and celebrities (who also have a tendency to hop onto the stage for a song or two), while the sun sets and turtles bob up for air in the crystal-clear waters surrounding the bar. Serving a selection of light bites, including tacos, fish, jerk chicken, burgers and flatbreads, as well as killer Mustique Mule cocktails, you’re all set for a fun night ashore.

If you are looking for something a little more substantial, Mustique’s sophisticated Veranda serves both classic and contemporary dishes using house rubs and delicately spiced marinades. Diners can enjoy a selection of smaller sharing plates or larger main-sized dishes, matched with a tantalizing range of flavor-packed side dishes, all cooked using traditional smoking and over-flame grilling methods. The award-winning wine list will excite even the most enthusiastic connoisseurs.

Basil’s Bar is open daily from 10 am until late, with food served from 12 pm – 3 pm and 6 pm – 10 pm. The Veranda is open for dinner every day except Tuesday and Thursday, 7 pm – 9:30 pm (last orders). Contact reservations@cottonhouse.net. Security clearance for yacht arrivals is required and can be taken care of at the booking stage.
