A cruising ground that balances energy and escape in equal measure, The Bahamas
offers everything from lively beach clubs and polished resorts to anchorages where the only soundtrack is water against the hull.
JETTING THERE
The Bahamas are one of the most accessible cruising grounds in the Caribbean, with regular international connections into Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau. For those arriving by private jet, Nassau allows for a straightforward transfer from aircraft to your yacht, typically based at marinas on New Providence or nearby Paradise Island. Once on board, itineraries tend to head southeast toward the Exumas, where short cruising distances between islands mean that guests can find themselves in complete seclusion within hours of touchdown.
The Bahamas
Cay by Cay
Spread across more than 700 islands and cays, The Bahamas offers one of the Caribbean’s most versatile cruising grounds. Here, the style of charter is entirely self-defined – one day spent within reach of Nassau’s marinas, restaurants, and nightlife, the next anchored off a stretch of sand so remote it feels entirely your own. The Exumas remain the focal point for most itineraries, although “popular” is relative. With 365 islands in the chain, space is rarely an issue. Shallow, impossibly clear waters reveal shifting sandbanks and coral reefs below, while deeper channels such as the Tongue of the Ocean introduce a more dramatic scale.
CRUISING GUIDE
Days tend to find their own rhythm: mornings exploring mangrove channels by tender, afternoons snorkeling reefs or moving between anchorages, and evenings ashore at low-key beach bars or longstanding institutions like Staniel Cay Yacht Club. The appeal lies in the contrast, social when you want it, remote when you don’t.

BEYOND THE BEACH
As sophisticated as they come, the 133-foot ALPHA WAVES is well matched to The Bahamas – a yacht that balances capability with a relaxed, guest-led approach to charter. Built by Benetti, she offers a layout and volume that work particularly well for this style of cruising, where days move easily between activity and downtime. Deck spaces are central to the experience. The sundeck is set up for long, informal days on board, while the aft decks provide flexible areas for dining and lounging as the itinerary unfolds.
With the Bahamas’ shallow anchorages and shifting light, much of life naturally gravitates outside. Alpha Waves Accommodation is configured for up to 10 guests, with interiors that favor a contemporary, easy-going feel over formality. The main salon and dining spaces are designed to transition seamlessly from daytime use to evening entertaining, reflecting the rhythm of a charter that rarely follows a fixed plan. In a destination defined by water access, ALPHA WAVES comes into her own.
A well-curated selection of tenders and toys allows guests to explore mangroves, reefs, and hidden beaches with ease, while an experienced crew ensures the program remains fluid, adapting to weather, mood, and opportunity.
