Fort Lauderdale’s Luxury Real Estate Market is Booming

Posted March 22, 2021 in Estate by Morgan Crowe

If there is one thing we have learned from the past year, it is to expect the unexpected. During the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, many initially assumed a market recession was imminent and expected at least some kind of downturn. What Compass, the US’ fastest-growing luxury real estate technology company, has seen has been the opposite. As the first quarter of 2021 is wrapping up, South Florida’s real estate market has seen a boom like never before.

The Elmes Group of Compass Florida

A good way to quantify this is to look at the Elmes Group of Compass Florida, the number one real estate team in Broward County. After a record year in 2020 with over $150M in closed sales, they have started 2021 with over $128M in closed and pending sales in January and February alone. In addition to the movement because of the pandemic, Florida’s tax-haven status and Wall Street and corporate relocations are driving unprecedented interest in South Florida luxury real estate. The Elmes Group is primed to continue this success with two opulent listings showcasing the waterfront beauty in Fort Lauderdale.

141 Bay Colony is a magnificent Balinese-inspired, contemporary Point Lot Estate. The property features 800 feet of waterfront, including 505 feet on the Intracoastal point, 165 feet of protected dockage, and a 65-foot by 20-foot boat slip. This home is truly set up for entertaining with a media room, a large family room off an eat-in kitchen, and stacking glass doors that seamlessly blend the indoor and outdoor spaces. To top it all off, it features a 50-foot salt-water lap pool, putting green, and a private beach overlooking the Intracoastal.

2412 Laguna Drive, designed by Randall Stofft Architects, boasts 120 feet of waterfront with one of the best views in the area. No expense was spared on this modern masterpiece, with features including DuChateau oak floors, Italian cabinetry, a two-story marble fireplace, Dornbracht bath fixtures, a 200-bottle wine cellar and Crestron Smart Home system.

To date, this market has shown no signs of slowing down as The Elmes Group continues to list homes that are the dream of any yacht or waterfront enthusiast.
