The Rhythm of a Day Aboard STARFIRE

Posted March 12, 2026 in Charter

When you’re on a charter, it should feel like an escape. The decisions disappear, and everything you need seems to line up in front of you before you ever have to ask. On STARFIRE, that feeling comes naturally; so much so, it’s intentionally built into the way the day unfolds.

Mornings begin quietly on STARFIRE, the kind of quiet that only exists on your own private yacht. Wake up in the full-beam primary suite, stepping up into a private forward-facing observation lounge where panoramic ocean views stretch endlessly ahead. With a coffee in hand, your day starts watching the sun rise over open water, light pouring through the windows that blur the line between inside and out. It’s an unhurried moment, one that sets the tone for the week ahead.

As everyone onboard eases into the rhythm of the morning, you’ll find your way to the aft deck where a generous breakfast spread awaits. Fresh juices, warm pastries, made-to-order favorites, all served alfresco with the sea just beyond the railing. With Lürssen’s legendary build quality delivering smooth, stable cruising, even early transits between anchorages feel effortless, allowing the focus to remain exactly where it should be: enjoying the moment.

By mid-morning, attention turns toward the water. Thanks to STARFIRE’s extended stern, the yacht opens directly onto an enormous full-beam swim platform, a true waterside retreat. As a qualified dive center with all equipment onboard and two certified dive instructors, simply step off the platform and into another world to explore what lies beneath the surface.

Lunch unfolds right at the water’s edge on the swim platform, where you and up to 16 guests can dine alfresco, shaded by state-of-the-art awnings. This is where STARFIRE’s culinary program really begins to shine; it’s relaxed, generous, and deeply personal. The experience is led by Chef Thean Labuschagne, whose cooking earned him 1st Place for Best Chef in the 2025 Antigua Charter Show competition.

Afternoons onboard STARFIRE can unfold in countless ways. You may gravitate toward the yacht’s playful side, settling into the English pub to play poker, throw darts, enjoy burgers and beers, or challenge the other guests in the enclosed video arcade. Others head up to the sundeck, where a basketball hoop and deck area invite friendly competition before cooling off in the swimming pool. With countercurrent capability, you can swim laps before easing over to the swim-up bar. As the afternoon drifts toward golden hour, the mood shifts. The grill comes alive as Chef Thean Labuschagne steps into his element, tossing tomahawks on the grill, adding precision to something far more memorable than a typical barbecue.

For those seeking balance and well-being, the glass-enclosed wellness deck offers a more restorative pace. You can move between a fully equipped gym, cold plunge pool, and sauna, or simply recline on sun loungers overlooking the ocean. Designed to open to the surrounding deck spaces, this area embodies STARFIRE’s philosophy: luxury that feels intuitive, never forced.

Behind every moment is STARFIRE’s world-class crew of 20, led by Captain Paul Duncan, whose leadership sets the tone throughout the yacht. In the evenings, creativity shines once again. Tables are transformed by the interior team, led by Chief Stewardess Aimie Keech, whose creativity earned 2nd Place for Best Tablescape at the 2025 Antigua Charter Show competition and MYBA Charter Show. Each setting feels thoroughly thought through, be it candles placed just so, textures layered just right, and details that elevate dinner without ever feeling too formal. Paired with Chef Thean’s expert menu, meals onboard feel intimate and unrushed, whether dining under the stars or inside one of STARFIRE’s beautifully styled dining areas.

As the day winds down, STARFIRE’s family-friendly side comes into focus. The crew helps the younger guests with arts and crafts in the dedicated children’s area, which can later transform into a stylish lounge or disco. Movie night follows in the observation lounge, or under the stars on the sundeck, while adults enjoy a quiet moment elsewhere onboard…perhaps in one of the yacht’s many tucked-away spaces designed for reading, calls, or simple solitude. When it’s time to turn in, you’ll step into the glass elevator, traveling smoothly down through five levels of interior space to your cabin.

STARFIRE is built for those who want it all: laid-back mornings, high-energy afternoons, and evenings that linger long after the sun sets.
