Northrop & Johnson Crew Services (France) provide an introductory service to seafarers looking for work within the yachting industry.

We are listed on the French Register for Seafarer recruitment and placement services under number 10423739.

As a SRPS (Seafarer Recruitment and Placement Service) operating in France, we pledge the following:

  • We will never charge seafarers, directly or indirectly, any fees relating to recruitment or placement (excluding the cost of a seafarers medical certificate, a national seafarers book, a passport or any other personal travel documents).
  • NJ Crew Services will not use means, mechanisms or lists intended to prevent or deter seafarers from gaining employment for which they are qualified.
  • NJ Crew Services will ensure that requests for advice or any other information requested by the families of the seafarers are dealt with promptly and sympathetically with no cost.
  • NJ Crew Services will ensure that no person under the age of 16 years old, or below the minimum age specified by the vessel’s Flag State *(whichever is the higher) shall be employed or engaged or work on a ship.
  • NJ Crew Services will ensure that all seafarers placed onboard have a valid medical certificate prior to starting work, which must be in English.
  • NJ Crew Services will ensure that the seafarers are informed of their rights and duties under their employment agreement prior to signing the agreement and accept engagement.
