CONTRACT TERMS AND CONDITIONS

CHARTER RATES

The charter rates quoted include the hire of the yacht together with its crew, crew food and the yacht’s insurance. Charter rates are presented by the week. One week consists of 7 nights/8 days and are 24-hour periods, typically from 12pm (noon) to 12pm (noon). For charters less than one week, it is customary to divide the weekly rate by 6 and multiply by the number of nights. For charters longer than one week, divide the weekly rate by 7 and multiply by the number of nights.

ADVANCED PROVISIONING ALLOWANCE (APA)

All expenses are additional to the charter rate, and include fuel for the main engines, generators and tenders, port dockage and harbor fees, ground transfers, communication costs, guests’ food and drinks, and any other expenses incurred throughout the duration of the charter. Industry standard is to estimate these costs to be in the region of 35-40% of the weekly charter rate, although this will depend on the style of cuisine you prefer and the extent of cruising undertaken. The APA is typically paid one month before embarkation, to provide the captain and crew adequate time to provision according to your requirements. Where possible, provisions will be purchased directly at local markets, supermarkets, and specialty shops. In instances where requested food and beverage items are not available locally, they may be sourced from a purveyor abroad with the cost of freight deducted from the APA. The Captain will present a detailed accounting of APA expenditures at the end of your charter, along with receipts. Un-spent APA funds are returned to you post-charter.

VAT/ TAXES

Please note that charters may be subject to VAT or local taxes depending on the port of embarkation and itinerary.

DELIVERY/RE-DELIVERY FEE

There may be a position or repositioning charge if the charter involves meeting or leaving the yacht away from its home port.

WATER SPORTS

Each yacht’s recreational equipment is believed to be correct but cannot be guaranteed as they are liable to change at short notice. Use of personal watercraft may be restricted in certain cruising areas and/or require an operating license. Please check with us first for any guidelines, or if you have any specific requirements in this regard.

RESTRICTIONS

Please note that some yachts will only accept children over a certain age, and most yachts will only permit smoking on deck. Satellite Television and Internet/Wi-Fi systems cannot be guaranteed due to differing signal strengths across the world, and varying capabilities of receivers. If any of these items are important and likely to affect you, please let us know before making any commitment.

CREW GRATUITY

If you enjoyed the service provided by your crew it is customary to offer them a gratuity. While the level is completely at your discretion, we normally recommend that a gratuity of 10-20% of the base charter rate is satisfactory. The captain will disburse the gratuity amongst the crew upon completion of the charter.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

It is the responsibility of the Charterer to ensure that he and his guests hold current, valid visas and all required travel documentation for all countries visited during the charter.
