Varon Rodriguez

My Present
Hi, my name is Varon Rodriguez. In 2022 I joined Northrop & Johnson as a Senior Accountant for the company’s accounting department. I work with a fantastic team! Together we work to oversee the accounting needs for all of N&J’s offices. I manage the daily and monthly accounting functions for N&JCA. I am also the liaison to our broker in California. In addition, I oversee some of N&JYS Charter Management accounting functions. I support my team in whichever areas I’m needed to ensure a successful month-end close. I regularly communicate with brokers and charter managers to keep everyone up to date on funds and transactions.

My Past
I attended Monroe College in New York, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Public Accounting. After making the move from New York City to south Florida, I worked diligently to hone and improve my skillset. Before joining N&J, I worked as Financial Analyst for a large hospital. While there, I was responsible for maintaining the Property Plant & Equipment (PP&E) account utilizing Lawson software. The yachting industry was completely foreign to me and sounded like an interesting new endeavor to explore. I joined Northrop & Johnson in March 2022, and every day has been a unique opportunity to learn more and grow my expertise. 

My Future
In the future, I’d like to earn the opportunity to take on a leadership role. I’m confident I can get there and succeed. I have the tools and resources within my department to develop into the leader I want to be.

Fast Facts
I was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in the Bronx, New York.
I love boxing and kickboxing. I love teaching it, but I’m still a student of the sport.
