My Present
Ben Young MBE - Commercial Director Europe
Following the acquisition of my company (SYM) by the MarineMax group in 2022 I led the integration with Northrop & Johnson to ensure a smooth transition as we became part of a wider group.
During this time I got the chance to see first hand how incredibly passionate and forward thinking NoJo are so when the opportunity came to lead the European teams I jumped at the opportunity.
My Past
I left the UK in '94 and fell in love with skiing during my first ski season in Val D’isere, a place I still very much call home.
Around the same time, I started in the yachting industry as a junior deckhand and worked my way up to becoming a Captain, obtaining my Master 3000 GRT licence at the tender age of 25.
After several years living onboard as crew I decided to make the leap ashore to start one of the first yacht management companies with one client from a spare bedroom at home. Over time and with the help of an amazing team we grew significantly to become a very well respected and trusted business.
My Future
I relish the chance to be able to support our incredible team so that we can ensure the continued growth and success of the business, whilst always keeping NoJo ahead of the game as a global player in the yachting industry here in Europe.
My Outside-office Life
When I'm not working, I'm usually skiing, cycling, wing-foiling, hiking, traveling, or spending time with family and friends.
