WHIT KIRTLAND JOINS N&J AS A SALES BROKER

Posted February 20, 2019 in Company by Janine St.Denis

Whit Kirtland has enjoyed a 36 plus year career in yacht brokerage. He is the third generation of his family in the maritime industry. With his father being a broker and head of Merrill-Stevens’ Shipyard, Whit began his maritime career by working every shop at Merrill-Stevens. From there he worked as a mate onboard an ocean-going tug before serving as a mate aboard a 110-foot (33.5m) Feadship. Whit even spent time on the racing circuit for sailing yachts as a “grinder” aboard a 51-foot (15.5m) Swan.

Offering maritime heritage as well as in-depth experience and knowledge, Whit provides his clients with a personal approach. He has brokered yachts of all sizes and builds ranging from power and sailing brokerage yachts to Dutch, Italian, French, Turkish and Danish new constructions. Throughout the entire brokerage process, Whit strives to ensure every client is confident that they made a good deal.

As an active member in the yachting community, Whit has served on the Board of Directors and as President three times for the International Yacht Brokers Association (IYBA), as a Board Member for the International Superyacht Society (ISS) and as a Certification Advisory Council Board Member for the Certified Professional Yacht Brokers (CPYB).
