Northrop & Johnson Remains World’s Leading Superyacht Agency with 103 Sales in 2020
Despite the uncertainty of 2020, Northrop & Johnson, the world’s leading superyacht agency, enjoyed another productive and successful year, selling 103 luxury yachts throughout the year. These sales are credited to the dedication, integrity, experience and expertise of Northrop & Johnson’s professional yacht brokers as well as the firm’s innovative technological tools and unique marketing efforts. These sales included yachts that were for sale with Northrop & Johnson as central agencies as well as sales in which Northrop & Johnson introduced the buyer.
In addition to the impressive volume of sales done in 2020, Northrop & Johnson Yacht Brokers also were able to move inventory faster than other yacht brokerage houses. Due to the high demand for luxury yachts during the pandemic and Northrop & Johnson’s Yacht Brokers’ intrinsic abilities to match the right buyer with the right yacht, at least four sales that took place in 2020 saw yachts on the market for two months or less. These sales included the 120-foot (36.58m) Crescent Yacht WONDER and the 118-foot (35.97m) motor yacht ELIZABETH to name a few.
In addition to an impressive sales record in 2020, Northrop & Johnson also enjoyed successes in charter as well. The professional Charter Brokers of Northrop & Johnson were able to reschedule or reroute almost all charter booked for clients during the global shutdowns. Furthermore, thanks to a successful relationship with a prominent insurance firm, Northrop & Johnson is able to offer charter clients the safeguard of a charter insurance program, so they are able to book without worry of the future. Thus far, the 2020-2021 winter charter season is fairly busy despite global travel restrictions. The summer 2021 season is shaping up to be one of the busiest yet as the advent of the vaccine ensures the global travel will soon be available again to all.
Lastly, Northrop & Johnson’s crew service team had a banner year, placing more crew than ever before. Assisting both yachts looking for crew and crew looking for a job aboard yachts, the crew placement team are experts in finding matching yacht captains and owners with the ideal crewmembers for their teams to ensure an exceptional experience for all. As we move further into 2021 and the world opens again, there will be a need for more crewmembers to fulfill roles and Northrop & Johnson’s crew services team is here to help.
