MONACO YACHT SHOW 2018 WRAP UP

Known as one of the most extravagant places in the world, Monaco once again hosted the creme de la crème of yachts from Wednesday, September 26 to Saturday, September 29 during the 27th Annual Monaco Yacht Show.

Northrop & Johnson was delighted to be in attendance at this year’s show. Sales and Charter brokers, as well as staff, from N&J’s distinguished global team converged on the tiny principality for this spectacular event. In addition, Northrop & Johnson had a myriad of yachts in the show and at anchor, which were available for viewing. Northrop & Johnson’s display included the stunning 128-foot (39m) Hakvoort superyacht REVELRY, which is available for charter and sale with Northrop & Johnson; the yacht had a steady flow of clients aboard to visit her sumptuous decks. Tankoa shipyard’s latest new-build masterpiece, which is available for charter with Northrop & Johnson, the 236-foot (72m) SOLO made her world debut at the show. SOLO was one of the hottest tickets as everyone in Monaco wanted to feast their eyes this awe-inspiring yacht. In addition, the 98-foot (28m) Dominator motor yacht for sale KALLIENTE also was on display at the show.

Northrop & Johnson kicked off its show festivities on Monday, September 24 with the annual Captains Meet in the Med dinner. More than 50 captains joined Northrop & Johnson brokers and sponsors Chai Rum and YACHTSIGN for an evening of wining and dining at A’Trego.

On Wednesday, September 26, the show opened and the docks filled with attendees. Throughout the show Northrop & Johnson welcomed guests at its lavish VIP lounge located on Quai des Etats Unis. Luxury Strategic Partner Chai Rum was on hand offering clients a taste of its delightful, award-winning rum. Lauderdale Marine Center also was at the show, offering services to N&J clients.

With a multitude of superyachts located at anchor, Northrop & Johnson offered a Zeelander Z55 and a Novurania tender for clients who wanted to view the yachts anchored out. Some of these yachts included Northrop & Johnson’s MINE GAMES — a 203-foot (62m) Benetti for charter — DR NO NO, a 163-foot (50m) CRN superyacht for sale, GTT 115, a 115-foot (35m) new-build Dynamiq superyacht for sale, REVEIL, a 92-foot (28m) AB yacht for sale and LOUNOR, an 80-foot (25m) Pershing yacht for sale. In addition, Northrop & Johnson also offered courtesy cars to clients to easily move about town.

Thursday evening, the striking new-build Tankoa superyacht SOLO welcomed more than 140 charter brokers and industry professionals for an evening Italian hospitality that included, delicious canapes created by the yacht’s five-star chef, a delightful sampling of wines from Tuscany by Torciano Wines, impressive cocktails and soothing live jazz music. Excited guests got a chance to discover the outstanding qualities of this striking new yacht and the crew who make the magic happen.

At 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, the yachts blasted their horns marking the end of the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show. Overall, Northrop & Johnson experienced a busy show.
