2017 FORT LAUDERDALE INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW WRAP-UP

Posted November 8, 2017 in Company by Janine St.Denis

Showcasing 21 luxury yachts on display for sale and charter, Northrop & Johnson saw an eventful show. Our VIP lounge, located on the Face Dock just north of the swing bridge, was bustling throughout the show. Clients were charmed by our Strategic Partners who were available at our stand for the duration of the event. Lufthansa welcomed guests with a cool refreshing towel, Chai Rum delighted taste buds with thirst-quenching cocktails and REVOLVE provided VIP car service to and from the show. Marsh Insurance, Crystal Cruises, Corcoran Real Estate Group and Lauderdale Marine Center were all on hand alongside our team of international sale and charter brokers to welcome clients.

Northrop & Johnson kicked off the week of festivities on Monday, November 30, with a staff and captains’ dinner at Grille 66. More than 50 captains joined us for a wonderful evening and a delectable meal.

Friday evening, Northrop & Johnson hosted clients, guests and friends for its annual ’49 Elite event. Guests enjoyed viewing the numerous luxury yachts on display, luscious Chai Rum Cocktails, Champagne served by Lufthansa and music from Fort Lauderdale favorite Brendan O’Hara. All Northrop & Johnson’s partners, as well as Antigua Yacht Meeting/Antigua Tourism, participated in the evening’s festivities.

On Saturday, Northrop & Johnson hosted its first-ever Chai Rum Cocktail Contest. For more information and to find out the winners, please click here.

Saturday evening, Northrop & Johnson welcomed Kids in Distress (KID), a local charity dedicated to the prevention of child abuse, preservation of family and the care and treatment of abused children in Broward and Palm Beach counties, for the annual Boys ‘N’ Toys Auction and yacht hop. Northrop & Johnson offered a variety of luxury yachts for guest viewing. As the music bumped and drinks were poured guests bid on the large array of silent auction items, such as a weekend stay at the Ocean Reef Club, a private charter flight and an autographed “1972 Miami Dolphins Perfect Season” Publication. The exciting live auction offered excellent items such as a two-month subscription to REVOLVE, New Year’s Eve tickets for Billy Joel, a week cruise aboard Crystal Cruise Line’s Esprit and a cruise on board the 154-foot (46.9m) Delta superyacht USHER. The numbers are still being totaled but to date, the amount raised is over $145,000 and climbing!
