At the heart of the XSR 85 is its revolutionary hull design, a product of Van Oossanen Naval Architects out of Holland. The patented Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) marks a breakthrough, enabling the yacht to perform with increased efficiency across a broad range of speeds. The yacht boasts four distinctive operating modes, each tailored to cater to specific cruising requirements. In Diesel Electric Mode, electrical motors are harnessed for propulsion, driven by a generator through a hybrid module, blending efficiency with reduced emissions. Electric Mode places the reliance solely on batteries for propulsion. Silent Mode utilizes batteries to power the hotel load. Boost Mode combines the might of the main engines and electrical motors.
The yacht features an advanced hybrid propulsion system, incorporating two 800 HP MAN engines, two 70-kilowatt generators and two 50-kilowatt electric motors, complemented by a battery bank. Solar panels efficiently charge the service batteries for the hotel load, while the hybrid battery bank draws power from a combination of generators and electric motors, driven by the engines. This technology enables the yacht to operate silently on batteries, efficiently use generators or combine both for maximum flexibility and a remarkable range of over 1,400 nautical miles at ten knots.
The XSR 85 can comfortably accommodate eight guests across four cabins and a dedicated crew of four. The expansive layout includes a full-beam Owner’s cabin on the aft lower deck, complete with his and her walk-in closets and a stunning bathroom. Additional guest cabins include a port guest cabin with twin beds and an ensuite bathroom, a starboard guest cabin with a double bed and ensuite bathroom and a full-beam VIP cabin featuring a walk-in closet and bathroom that can be transformed into a TV lounge when needed.
The XSR 85’s seamless integration of interior and exterior spaces is achieved by extensive glass elements throughout the hull and superstructure. This innovative design eliminates as many obstructions as possible, resulting in a truly open floor plan. The open galley to port can also be enclosed as needed.
The exterior features of the XSR 85 are catered to alfresco enjoyment. The aft deck is complete with its own seating area and flows seamlessly from the main. A full-beam set of stairs leads to the swim platform, which boasts a hydraulic platform. Teak decks continue on both port and starboard, guiding guests to the bow, where a sitting area and lounge space await. Her flybridge features a helm station, a seating area and a small bar.
