Northrop & Johnson is delighted to announce the in-house sale of the 95’ (29m) SORCERER II by Yacht Brokers Hank Halsted and Elizabeth Swain. She was last asking $825,000.
Built in 1998 by Cookson Boats in Auckland, New Zealand, and designed by German Frers, SORCERER II is a composite-built performance sailing yacht. She was long owned by pioneering genome scientist Craig Venter, who outfitted her for The Global Ocean Sampling Expedition. Her storied journeys are chronicled in the YouTube documentary series Cracking the Ocean Code, affirming her place not just as a high-performance racer, but as a vessel of scientific discovery.
Built for speed and ease of handling, her lightweight composite hull and carbon fiber mast with in-boom furling deliver precision sailing with minimal crew. A hydraulic sail handling system, captive reel winches, and hydraulic furlers.
She welcomes up to eight guests in three spacious staterooms, including a full-beam master suite aft with a king-size berth, en-suite with full-size tub and shower, and generous storage. Two guest cabins with convertible twin-to-queen berths and additional Pullman beds provide flexibility.
Her raised main salon, wrapped in panoramic windows, creates a bright, airy hub for socializing or relaxing. With a dining area for six, wet bar with ice maker, and custom crystal cabinets, the space is ideal for entertaining. A cozy lower salon with library and theater setup offers quiet retreat after a day on the water.
A shaded aft cockpit with private companionway to the owner’s suite, scuba tank filling station, and comfortable guest cockpit forward make her ideal for both exploration and relaxation.
SORCERER II has seen consistent upgrades, including 2024 enhancements like new carpets, salon covers, exterior canvas, oven, and dryer, while her topsides were repainted in 2023 alongside a comprehensive bottom job.
