Northrop & Johnson is pleased to announce the sale of the West Coast legend SILVERADO, a 120’ custom long-range motor yacht built in 1974 by Willard Boat Works, last asking $2,499,000, and sold after just 61 days from proposal to sale. The transaction was represented by Robert Petrina and Mike Hickey, and marks the third closing this month for Northrop & Johnson’s Newport Beach office.
With a history that includes ownership by the owner of See’s Candies and later Barron Hilton, SILVERADO has long been recognized as one of the largest fiberglass yachts of her era. She has cruised extensively throughout Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, Mexico, the Sea of Cortez, the Caribbean, and the U.S. East Coast, reflecting a lifetime of capable, long-range operation.
Built for serious offshore cruising, SILVERADO features a true displacement hull and delivers a comfortable ride with Koopnautic stabilizers. She cruises at 12 knots and reaches approximately 17 knots, powered by twin Caterpillar D349 main engines with support from Northern Lights generators. Her over 11,000-gallon fuel capacity enables impressive range suited for extended passages.
Inside, a Bill Harris-designed interior showcases classic teak joinery and a practical, comfortable layout. She accommodates 10 guests in five staterooms, including an on-deck owner’s suite with a California King berth and en-suite finished in varnished wood and gold fixtures. A standout feature is the lower deck guest lounge with a U-shaped settee, bar, Viking 44-bottle wine storage, and an in-hull underwater viewing window.
Outdoor spaces are straightforward and functional, with a fully enclosed aft deck for dining and lounging, a Portuguese bridge for protected viewing, and a boat deck equipped for tenders and equipment with crane support.
U.S.-built and U.S.-flagged, SILVERADO has been consistently maintained, with Caterpillar engines showing low hours since rebuilds.
