RAINBOW Receives a €1 Million Price Reduction

The 131-foot (39.95m) sailing yacht RAINBOW has received a €1,000,000 price reduction. Listed with Yacht Broker Ann Avery, the yacht is now asking €6,950,000.

RAINBOW is a one-of-a-kind sailing yacht that boasts impressive performance, eco-consciousness and luxurious comfort. Built in 2012 by Holland Jachtbouw with naval architecture by Dykstra Naval Architects, RAINBOW is a replica of the classic J Class Rainbow that won the 1934 America’s Cup. This RAINBOW, however, has a hull made of aluminum to maximize the racing performance rules of the J Class organization as well as several innovative features.

This quintessentially beautiful sailing yacht is the first J Class to have a groundbreaking propulsion and power system. Unlike traditional yachts, her diesel-electric hybrid system, allows a large bank of batteries to be charged while sailing, which creates many hours of “quiet ship.” In addition, a “floating” interior contributes to the tranquility aboard.

Sailing yacht RAINBOW’s interior embodies the classic ambiance of the Golden Age of Yachting. Dykstra Design designed the sailing yacht interior in collaboration with deVosdeVries Interior Design. The space showcases many stunning appointments reminiscent of the 1930’s styling while still providing modern luxury. RAINBOW has an impressive main salon and the iconic “dog house”, an intimate pilothouse forward of the cockpit, both perfect for entertaining and relaxing.  The sailing yacht also offers accommodations for eight guests in three beautifully appointed staterooms.

RAINBOW’s innovation and elegance have gained her accolades in the industry.  She won the Naval Architecture award and was a finalist for the Interior and Exterior Design Awards for sailing yachts at the 2013 Showboat Design Awards. The yacht also won Best Sailing Yacht 40m plus at the 2013 World Superyacht Awards
