One of the largest carbon sailing yachts ever built, DONA FRANCISCA was launched by Astilleros Buquebus in 2014 for an experienced owner with a lifelong passion for sailing. She was designed by Javier Soto Acebal, who set out to create a vessel capable of comfortable, long-distance cruising with classical styling and modern efficiency.

Her carbon-fibre hull, masts and booms provide a strong, lightweight structure that enhances performance and stability, while her 3.5-metre draft allows access to anchorages that other yachts of her size can’t reach. DONA FRANCISCA is built to RINA class and designed to be handled by a small crew, supported by hydraulic sail systems from Harken, Eaton and Parker.

Under sail, she reaches up to 17 knots and under power, a steady 10 knots. Her range and handling have been well proven, including a 6,700-nautical-mile passage from South America to the Mediterranean.

A major refit completed in 2024 brought her fully up to date, covering everything from paintwork and rigging to joinery and systems. On deck, DONA FRANCISCA carries the spirit of the golden age of sailing, with teak, mahogany and bronze detailing that reflect her timeless design.

Below deck, her interior is warm and sophisticated, with mahogany paneling, traditional deck prisms for natural light, and space for eight guests in four cabins. The full-beam owner’s suite is a highlight, beautifully crafted, serene and private.
