120’ (36.58m) ANNE S PIERCE Now Asking $2,950,000
Northrop & Johnson announces a $1,497,000 price reduction on expedition yacht ANNE S. PIERCE, now asking $2,950,000. The yacht is offered for sale with Northrop & Johnson Yacht Broker Whit Kirtland.
Originally launched in 1982 at Lunenburg Shipyard in Nova Scotia as a North Atlantic scallop dragger for Clearwater Fish Company, ANNE S. PIERCE was built on a commercial platform before later serving as a research and training vessel for Memorial University in Newfoundland. From 2019 to 2021, Glovertown Shipyard in Newfoundland completed an extensive remanufacture that converted her into a 500-plus-ton expedition yacht.
The conversion retained her North American steel hull and 14-foot draft, while major systems were either replaced with new North American components or fully rebuilt. Her engineering was approached with serviceability in mind, including individual mini-split induction heat pumps rather than a centralized climate system. Her displacement and stability were restored with 350,000 pounds of concrete following the addition of a new 20,000-pound pilothouse.
ANNE S. PIERCE accommodates up to 14 guests in five staterooms, with crew accommodations for six in two cabins and the option to expand to three cabins for 12. Her main deck incorporates a galley, large dining area and lounge lined with Diamond Sea Glaze windows, while cherrywood, mahogany and shiplap finishes feature throughout the interior. Two wood-burning stoves provide an additional practical element for cruising in colder climates.
Her new steel pilothouse salon and flybridge module was craned into position and welded in place during the refit. The pilothouse features reverse-raked windows, a navigator’s berth and a balcony providing 360-degree visibility.
With her commercial steel-hull foundation, substantial displacement and hull form designed for icy waters, ANNE S. PIERCE is configured for long-range exploration and operation in remote cruising areas.
