Newport Beach Dining Guide 2026

Posted March 30, 2026 in Events

Newport Beach’s relaxed, coastal California attitude brings a different vibe to boat show season. Days on the dock roll straight into long lunches, easy dinners, and drinks by the water, or better yet, onboard a yacht.

From April 16–19, 2026, the Newport Beach International Boat Show returns to Lido Marina Village, bringing together more than 200 yachts and the key players across the West Coast yachting scene. The walkable setting just steps from the beach makes this particular show one you don’t want to miss.

Northrop & Johnson will be there with our Newport Beach and San Diego teams across sales, charter, and yacht management, ready to walk you through the market or get you aboard the right yacht.

And once you step off the dock, Newport Beach has plenty to offer.

This is our short list of where to eat, drink, and meet during the show.

Dinner & Evening Spots

A Newport staple right on the water. This historic waterfront seafood restaurant dates back to 1921, serving California and Pacific seafood with direct harbor views. The downstairs dining room is polished and energetic, while the upstairs bar and sushi lounge offer a more social setting with a strong happy hour scene.

Modern Italian within walking distance of the show. A proper sit-down dinner spot with a clean, contemporary feel and a menu built around pastas, seafood, and classic favorites.

Authentic Italian rooted in time-honored recipes, with wood-fired pizzas, house-made pastas, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Casual but polished, with a lively dining room and a menu built around quality ingredients and classic technique.

A new, intimate spot inspired by European café culture and La Dolce Vita. The menu draws from France, Italy, and Spain, with a chef-driven approach that works just as well for a relaxed lunch as it does for dinner. Stylish but easygoing, it’s a place to slow down, share a bottle of wine, and settle in for a more unhurried meal.

A Newport institution since 1952, known for straightforward seafood and some of the best crab in the area. No-frills, fast-paced, and entirely focused on the food.

Small, local, easygoing, and one of the better meals in the area. Southern-inspired comfort food, a compact patio, and a more relaxed pace compared to the busier waterfront spots.

Open since 1925, A’s is one of Newport’s longest-standing dining institutions. The menu leans contemporary American, with Chef Robert Gomez highlighting seasonal ingredients from local farms across refined land and sea dishes. The setting is cozy, slightly romantic, but still lively, making it an easy choice for a night out.

Lunch & Brunch

Located right outside of the show, Zinqué is a French-inspired neighborhood café with a California edge. Coffee, wine, tartines, and light plates served in a bustling social setting right on the marina.

Casual seafood counter known for fresh poke, fish plates, and a strong outdoor dining scene. Fast, consistent, and one of the most popular midday stops in the area.

A low-key waterfront sushi spot with a loyal following. Fresh fish, traditional recipes, and a relaxed, personal feel.

Trendy coffee, matcha, and small-bite spot with a strong daytime crowd. Quick, easy, and convenient for a caffeine stop between tours.

Drinks & Lobby Lounges

The only rooftop in the immediate area. Open-air, gorgeous coastal views, small plates, and a strong cocktail menu, best enjoyed at sunset.

Located just off the lobby, offering an upscale bar and dining experience with a polished coastal aesthetic and indoor/outdoor flow.

Right across from the show and just steps from the N&J Newport Beach office. Opens late afternoon and transitions easily from happy hour into dinner; a convenient and well-positioned spot for a nightcap post-show.
