FOOD PARADISE ON BVI

Posted September 10, 2019 in Travel by Morgan Crowe

The month of November marks the return of BVI Food Fête, the annual food festival on the British Virgin Islands (BVI). Six islands will host six events between November 7–December 1, 2019, to celebrate the local gastronomic delights of the BVI. Premier chefs from across the United States and local culinary rising stars will be cooking up the excitement, as they hope to reinvigorate the BVI as a culinary destination after the destruction of Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017.

Event Schedule

BVI Gourmet Soiree

Six award-winning local and international chefs will prepare diverse cuisine, complete with wine and spirits tastings and live entertainment. This elegant evening will be held at Scrub Island Resort, Spa and Marina for the first time, as they celebrate their reopening.

Taste of Tortola

This energetic street festival features a bevy of offerings from local restaurants, international vendors and food trucks. Expect food ranging all the way from fusion to island favorites.

Cooper Island Rum Festival

Sample and learn all about the Caribbean’s favorite spirits on Cooper Island, whose rum bar boasts around 280 rums from around the world in its collection.

Jost Pork and More

Try pork in just about every imaginable way as you hop from White Bay to Great Harbor. Not a pork lover? No worries, restaurants also offer alternate meal options. Cocktails, games, live music and more are included.

Taste of Virgin Gorda

Headlined by jazz reggae legend Arturo Tappin, this upscale jazz experience will get your toes tapping as international chefs cook up delectable menus. The festival also overlooks the island’s biggest attraction: The Baths.

Anegada Lobster Festival

This two-day bash sends BVI Food Fête out with a bang as the island celebrates the spiny lobster for which Anegada is known. Taste it in several ways amidst live music, local artisan markets and more.

Beyond their beautiful beaches and vibrant culture, each island has its own unique taste to be celebrated, and BVI Food Fête is the perfect time to do it. More information on these events can be found at BVIFoodFete.com.
