After all, our services are catered to providing clients with the utmost bespoke experiences at sea. But without the great blue shining healthily, our industry will be struggling entirely. That’s why our NoJo team has such a heavy focus on these values, and you’ll be seeing more and more of it to come.
On December 10, members of our Fort Lauderdale office congregated at the Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park to team up and fight for conservation. Partnering with the delightful volunteercleanup.org, each team member grabbed a bucket and a pair of gloves and got to work. For hours, we walked along the coast, sorting through the various waves of seaweed-tangled microplastics, sand-hidden litter and man-made debris.
Heartbreakingly, there was a lot to be found, but NoJos rose to the challenge. Upon the clean-up conclusion, the team came back together to learn more about the processes of pollution, sustainability and conservation, thanks to the thorough educational work of our fellow volunteers. Taking notes, each team returned to the office with fresh eyes for recycling, sustainability and anti-pollutant practices – in our offices, shipyards and personal lives.
Consequently, conservation is at the forefront of all our teams’ minds. Over the holiday season, N&J brokers made sure sustainability was a gift for our clients as well as the oceans. Through the renowned program Coral Gardeners, our brokers adopted super corals in their clients’ names – helping restore marine ecosystems across the globe. This profound, delicate craft involves the process of identifying coral species to carefully grow and multiply their fragments in nurseries. From there, the super corals are then replanted onto the reef, bringing forth more nutrients, habitats and life to underwater landscapes in dire need of assistance.
This is only the start of N&J’s mission. With ocean sustainability and conservation at the forefront of our brand, our teams will continue to work diligently to give back to our planet, the NoJo way.
