The bright Florida sun shone every day of the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), providing excellent weather for attendees to stroll the docks. With 11 yachts for on display, Northrop & Johnson enjoyed a busy FLIBS 2018. The VIP lounge, located on the Face Dock just north of the swing bridge, was bustling and offered clients and guests a respite from the heat. The W Residences-sponsored bar was a hit offering an array of beverages and Chai Rum to quench thirsts. Northrop & Johnson’s strategic partners Chai Rum, Nicolas Air, Northern Trust and Zeelander all were on hand during the show alongside N&J’s international team of sales and charter brokers.

Northrop & Johnson kicked off the week of FLIBS with a staff and captains’ dinner at the Pier 66 Pier Top Ballroom. As the sun set, more than 100 captains and N&J’s strategic partners and sponsor YACHTSIGN joined in for an evening of wining, dining and sensational views of the Fort Lauderdale skyline.

Friday evening, Northrop & Johnson hosted its annual ‘49 Elite event welcoming clients, guests and friends for an evening of festivities. Guests enjoyed viewing the yachts in the display, specialty Chai Rum cocktails and invigorating music by Nu Sound Entertainment.

The founders of Chai Rum were treated to a specialty Chai Rum cocktail, a Maple Chai Sour, created by Stewardesses Carly Benjamin and Katie Leetz of charter yacht I LOVE THIS BOAT on Saturday. This cocktail was best in the show utilizing buzz flowers to change your palate as you sip.

Saturday evening, Northrop & Johnson welcomed Kids in Distress (KID), a local charity dedicated to the prevention of child abuse, preservation of family and the care and treatment of abused children in Broward and Palm Beach counties, for the annual Boys ‘N’ Toys Auction and Yacht Hop. Northrop & Johnson offered a variety of luxury yachts for guest viewing. As the music bumped and drinks poured, guests bid on the large array of silent and live auction items

On Sunday at 6 pm, after a successful four days, yacht horns signaled the end of the show. Northrop & Johnson thanks all clients, guests and strategic partners for helping make FLIBS 2018 a radiant success.
