Lauderdale Marine Center (LMC), the United States’ largest dedicated yacht refit and repair facility and home of Northrop & Johnson’s international headquarters, is undergoing major enhancements that will further set the yard apart from others in the area and country alike.

This summer LMC has been diligently working on numerous projects around the facility, including reconfiguring its docks, which will comprise new floating docks and power upgrades. Once complete, the west dock will accommodate yachts of 80 (24.3m) to 150 feet (45.7m) and, on the river docks, yachts 200 feet (60.96m) and larger. Additionally, the entire marina is being dredged to 12 feet (3.6m) in order to accommodate larger vessels. Also in the works, adjacent to the newly configured marina is a restaurant/coffee bar and a floating platform with an alfresco bar — perfect for a quick pick-me-up, afternoon drinks and relaxing meals by the water. LMC also plans to host client events at this new space.Further upgrades to and an expansion of the crew gym ensure a state-of-the-art facility for crewmembers to work out; restrooms and showers in the marina also are receiving upgrades.

Offering more than 275 berths and more than 60 top-quality, on-site contractors, representing all primary shipyard trades, LMC allows vessels to handpick the perfect teams for any project. LMC plans to have all ongoing projects completed by the fall, allowing the yard to welcome yachts and their crews for an enhanced yard period with total peace of mind.

“We are extremely excited about the current upgrades and updates happening at LMC, which is home to our global headquarters,” says Northrop & Johnson COO Daniel Ziriakus. “These updates are in line with our philosophy and commitment to our clients to provide nothing but the absolute best. These renovations will allow Northrop & Johnson clients to enjoy an enhanced experience while visiting us at LMC. With our headquarters located on property, we are perfectly positioned to assist current and future Northrop & Johnson clients with ease.”

The doors of Northrop & Johnson headquarters are always open for owners, captains and crew to visit. Whether a formal meeting or an impromptu catch up, we’d love to see you. Pop in and say hello.
