Northrop & Johnson spotlights IT Manager Ramone Wilson. With more than 15 years of experience, Ramone is an information and technology expert. Ramone is passionate about his profession and is dedicated to assisting the Northrop & Johnson team.

How did you get into the yachting industry and what led you to where you are today?

My introduction to the yachting industry came in 2017. When I bought my mom a house and moved everyone into it. I have always had a love for helping people and technology was a strong complement to that. Putting the two together gave me this drive to assist users with their ever-changing technology.

What do you think makes N&J special?

The culture. The fact that we are mostly at work than we are at home as the saying goes. It helps to feel like you are at home while you are at work. Makes the overall pressures of the day-to-day feel more natural than stressful.

What do you like most about your job?

I love the satisfaction of helping a colleague learn something new or get out of a jam.

What accomplishment at N&J makes you most proud?

Making our users feel like the IT department is here and attentive.

What is your favorite cruising destination and why?

I cannot say I have reached this milestone but life is a journey so we will see.

If you had a yacht what type of yacht would you have?

I had the pleasure of working on a couple, the names are not my strong suit, but the San Lorenzos appear to be pretty edgy. I would just start there due to the fact I remember the name.

If you had a yacht where would you spend the most time aboard?

I would be between the sundeck and the master.

What’s your favorite activity you enjoy with friends/family?

Taking in some new flavors at a restaurant. Nothing more relaxing than good conversation and delicious food with great company.

What is one fun/unique fact about yourself?

I believe a negative is the beginning of a positive. We also need negative as purely positive can be a little boring but on the same token, we want a middle ground as much as possible.

Any additional information you would like to share?

The NoJo experience is something I would invite anyone to try for a week and if they are not ready to be apart after that week, then they have not understood what they just experienced.
