The competition followed a mystery basket format, incorporating ingredients generously provided by Shoreside Support, the sponsor of the Chef Competition. Participating yacht chefs crafted three distinct hors d’oeuvres, with one of them being a delightful grazing platter. In an exciting triumph, Chef Nicole from superyacht UNBRIDLED claimed the coveted 1st place position in the Chef Competition. Her culinary prowess and exceptional skills impressed the judges, securing her well-deserved recognition for her outstanding performance. Additionally, Sous Chef Johan showcased his talent by securing a commendable third place with his vibrant and enticing charcuterie board, a true feast for the eyes and palate. On June 21, 2023, the 2023 Newport Charter Yacht Show hosted an exciting Tablescaping Competition that showcased the talent of the interior crew onboard participating yachts. This captivating competition invited all interior crew members to exhibit their artistic skills by adorning a dining table onboard with the yacht’s own linen, china, tableware, and various decorative elements, including candles and flowers. Participants had the freedom to select any theme and create their unique setup on either an interior or exterior table. The competition provided a platform for the interior crew to demonstrate their creativity and transform the dining area into a visually stunning and inviting space, further enhancing the overall yacht experience for guests.
Charter yacht MIRABELLA claimed 1st place in the Tablescape Competition, curated by Chief Stewardess Karly Hinkebein. Notably, sailing yacht KAORI earned a special mention for Chief Stewardess Christine’s exquisite flower arrangements. These outstanding achievements exemplify the exceptional creativity and attention to detail displayed by the crews of MIRABELLA and KAORI, ensuring unforgettable dining experiences for charter guests.
