The Culture That Powers ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM

ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM carries a name that suggests momentum…and she lives up to it. At 161’ (49.07m), this Trinity superyacht has built her reputation on performance, widely regarded as one of the fastest yachts in her size category. Yet what defines her charter program is not just how quickly she moves across open water, but how precisely everything moves behind the scenes.

She operates with a proven charter track record, supported by an experienced crew and a well-established onboard structure. As Chief Stewardess Timna Snijman puts it, “There is a huge amount of work happening behind the scenes — planning, logistics, leadership and long hours to make everything appear seamless for guests.” On ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM, that invisible effort is part of the program’s identity.

For guests who gravitate toward the water, capability is immediate and expansive. Her watersports inventory includes a 40’ Seahunter tender, a wide-body RIB, WaveRunners, Seabobs, water skis, wakeboard, kneeboard, inflatables, snorkeling equipment, inshore and offshore fishing gear and a water slide. The scale allows each charter to find its own rhythm; from high-energy mornings offshore or slow explorations along the coast. “Preparation is a big part of that mindset,” Timna explains when speaking about adaptability. “If guests are scheduled to arrive 13:00, expect an arrival at 12:30.” That same proactive thinking applies to activity planning; the equipment is ready long before it’s requested.

Technology onboard is equally considered. VSat connectivity, HD satellite television, a Kaleidescape movie server and an integrated iPad/Creston control system allow guests to control entertainment and onboard systems with ease. Stability at anchor is enhanced by Zero Speed stabilizers designed to minimize motion and maintain comfort. These technical elements create the environment, but it is the crew who define how it feels.

The interior, designed by Evan K. Marshall, balances scale with sophistication. The full-beam skylounge serves as a natural gathering space, while accommodations are structured to provide both privacy and comfort. ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM accommodates 10 guests across five staterooms, including a split-level, on-deck master suite complete with private study, king bed and a his-and-hers en-suite featuring steam shower and Jacuzzi. Two king-bed VIP cabins, along with a queen and a twin cabin, are positioned below deck, each with en-suite facilities. The arrangement allows the yacht to host a range of charter dynamics without compromising flow.

Exterior living unfolds across multiple levels. An extended stern platform operates as a waterside lounge, dining extension or toy launch zone. The main deck aft provides covered dining, while the bridge deck aft offers additional lounge seating and alfresco dining around a large round table. The sundeck is equipped with a bar, Jacuzzi and sunpads, creating an elevated space for evenings under the stars.

Timna’s leadership style is shaped long before she ever stepped onboard. Born in South Africa’s Northern Cape and raised between farm life and the Cape Winelands, she credits her upbringing for her sense of responsibility and community. “I was lucky to grow up in a home filled with love, laughter and strong support,” she says. “That continues to shape how I lead and look after my team onboard today.”

She joined yachting at 19, opting for adventure over university psychology studies. “At the time it felt like one big adventure,” she recalls. After time ashore working in interior decorating — a role that refined her eye for atmosphere and detail — she found herself drawn back. “The ocean has a way of calling you back.” When she returned full-time in 2021, it was with intention. “This time with a clearer sense that the ocean had officially won.”

That clarity informs how she approaches both guests and crew. When asked about the biggest challenge as Chief Stew, she points immediately to “mental fatigue and maintaining a healthy team dynamic.” Yachting is high-pressure and fast-paced, and crew operate far from family for extended periods. “I try to create an environment where people feel comfortable speaking up, where we check in on each other, and where everyone feels respected.” For Timna, leadership is not only operational, it is emotional. “Sometimes what people need most is simply to feel seen and supported.”

Her advice to other Chief Stews reflects that philosophy: “Never forget that you’re leading people, not just running the interior.” Earlier experience managing a florist, a coffee shop and a nursery reinforced that understanding. She also credits two pieces of advice she has carried with her since childhood. “I’ve never been very good at sticking to just one piece of advice — I quite like collecting them,” she says. “The first came from my dad, who gave me my first multitool when I was eight years old.” The gift sparked what she describes as a lasting “let me fix it first” attitude. “I’ve always been quite hands-on and curious, and to this day I still carry a multitool in my handbag — although TSA has probably made a small fortune from the number I’ve donated to airport security over the years.” The second lesson came from her mother: “never walk with empty hands.” It’s a rule she applies both physically and mentally — always looking for what needs to be done and how she can help things run more smoothly. On a yacht that moves at the pace ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM does, that mindset becomes an anchor for both preparation and leadership.

Adaptability remains central. “Things rarely go exactly to plan in yachting,” she says. “So the ability to stay calm, adjust quickly and stay solution-focused makes a huge difference.” She pairs that with kindness and professionalism. “When challenges arise, approaching them with calm energy and a practical mindset helps keep both the crew and experience for guests on track.”

She is equally honest about the misconception that charter life is all glamor. “While a Chief Stew is expected to have answers for almost everything, the truth is that great charters are never the work of one person.” Watching her team grow is one of her greatest rewards. “Seeing junior crew gain confidence, develop their skills, and start to genuinely enjoy the job is one of the most rewarding parts.” She also embraces the creative side — shaping tablescapes, refining atmosphere and adding small details that make a charter memorable. “Guests come onboard not only for the holiday, but for peace and happiness, and being able to create that experience for them is something I take great pride in.”

ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM may be defined by her pace and power on the water, but the experience onboard is grounded in preparation, adaptability and culture.
