Luxury superyacht DA VINCI, a 164-foot (50M) Overmarine motor yacht for charter with Northrop & Johnson, hosted a gold dinner experience on board the yacht in Monaco on April 2, 2019.

Organized by Jean-Christophe Rousseau from Gold Emotion — a luxury brand that incorporates edible gold in cosmetics, food & beverage, decoration and gift products — the extravagant dinner was held in collaboration with the excellent crew of DA VINCI. This exceptional evening was more than just a dinner, however. It was a culinary, sensory and interactive experience during which Jean-Christophe told stories and anecdotes of gilding and shared his passion for gold leaf.

Guests enjoyed Gold Emotion’s sparkling wines, Brut and Rosé, and many other gold surprises while listening to passionate stories. From creations of golden art monuments to haute cuisine, Jean-Christophe never ceases to feed his passion for this precious metal. Over time, he acquired a great expertise in the uses of gold. Jean-Christophe made his trademark by including fine flakes of edible gold in sparkling wines; marrying the most prestigious metal with the most famous drink was an immediate success. From London to Monaco, passing through Dubai, Moscow, Hong Kong and even New-York, everyone wants to taste the famous “gold luxury sparkling wine.”

Jean-Christophe collaborated with the chef to design and incorporate gold in each of the dishes that were served by Chief Stewardess, Sophie and her team. The evening began with an aperitif of “golden caviar” offered by Latvian Pearl. The finest and most exclusive caviar is sourced from a limited stock of Sterlets when they reach peak maturity. These caviar pearls have an intense gold color; their beautifully refined flavor has a distinct lingering finish unlike anything guests had ever experienced. To further highlight the golden hue, the crew of DA VINCI served the caviar on beautiful black spoons.

Captain Mark Horsnail and his fantastic crew are well prepared to organize unique events such as this for guests, all of which felt exceedingly special as soon as they stepped aboard. Guests were welcomed on the aft deck and invited to discover the stunning interior of DA VINCI. Thanks to the large windows that surround the main salon, guests were immediately attracted by the views of DILBAR berthed across the port. Enlarging the overall sense of space on board, the open-plan layout allowed guests to conveniently access the formal dining space, which is located slightly forward from the bar and seating area. The setting is framed by a reflective silver artwork and offered the perfect place for our guests to enjoy this special evening. The evening was a great success; guests left DA VINCI rejuvenated with plenty of gold memories.
