If you’re looking for an elegant yacht designed for incredible indoor/outdoor onboard living, look no further than the 144’ (43.9m) ALTA. Cruising the glamorous coastlines of the Mediterranean and hopscotching the palm-fringed Caribbean Islands, ALTA offers luxurious comforts at every turn and plenty of space to appreciate her stunning cruising grounds fully. Built by the US-based Palmer Johnson shipyard, ALTA was launched in 2004, boasting a sleek exterior design from the in-house team and naval architecture from Vripack. A comprehensive refit in 2021 has left ALTA in jaw-dropping, immaculate condition for an impressive charter vacation experience with family and friends.
Fresh interiors
Award-winning, Florida-based designer Patrick Knowles is the creative force behind ALTA’s reimagined interiors. With a chic beach house vibe in mind, Knowles has made liberal use of white to keep things fresh and bright with accents in espresso leather, Caesarstone quartz, polished nickel and linen. Wide plank hardwood floors have replaced the more traditional carpeting and enhanced the ambiance, which would not be out of place in the chicest Hamptons beach house. A maritime palette of nautical navy, crisp white and bright red have been used throughout to positive effect and set the tone for fantastic adventures at sea. The main salon is awash in natural light from the panoramic windows and large glass doors to the aft deck. There’s a plush cream sofa and armchairs in cream and navy, ideal for relaxing with a drink before dinner at the elegant formal dining table further forward. After dinner, the upper deck skylounge is an excellent place for socializing with nightcaps at the marble-topped sit-up bar or cards at the games table while the kids enjoy video games or a movie in the media room. For those who want to be close to the action, there’s a table and built-in sofa on the bridge where guests can sip morning coffee while they watch the captain at work behind the helm.
Spacious staterooms
ALTA’s five staterooms offer tranquil havens for her ten overnight guests, each one named after a famous explorer whose name is embroidered on the leather door. The remarkably spacious main-deck master stateroom spans the entire width of the yacht. It features the same beach house chic décor in ALTA’s interior and abundant natural light. There’s a private office, a king-size bed, a lovely seating area with over-stuffed blue armchairs and a leather ottoman, a walk-in closet and a his-and-hers en-suite bathroom with a central rain shower and exquisite mosaic tiling. On the lower deck, a further two VIP staterooms boast queen-size beds and generous en-suite bathrooms, while the handsome twin cabins have side-by-side single beds that can be converted to doubles making ALTA a flexible charter choice. As a bonus, the media room in the skylounge can also be converted to a double stateroom allowing her to accommodate up to 12 guests if required.
Stylish decks
As lovely as her interiors are, guests will likely while away the days on ALTA’s beautifully stylish decks. The main deck aft has a table perfect for lazy breakfasts while planning the day’s adventures. A shaded sofa overlooks the stern, where you can oversee the action on the swimming platform below. The upper deck also offers space for alfresco dining and lounging, partially shaded by the sundeck overhang. There's no better place for sundowner cocktails and canapes with amazing views than the stunning foredeck lounge with built-in sofas and raised tables just calling out for perfectly chilled Champagne. Crowning it all is ALTA’s impressive sundeck, which has everything you could want for endless days in the sun and fabulous nights of entertainment. The sit-up bar is positioned for the views, while the alfresco dining table is perfect for meals under starry night skies or enjoying snacks fresh from the barbecue grill. Sun pads surround a large Jacuzzi for relaxing dips day or night. Once the tenders and toys are launched, the deck is clear for morning yoga and Pilates or additional sun loungers.
Entertainment
At the water’s edge, ALTA’s large beach club boasts an array of fitness equipment and toys for exploring her excellent Mediterranean or Caribbean cruising grounds. For a shot of adrenaline, there are two Yamaha WaveRunners, Seabobs, an array of inflatable towable toys, water skis, wakeboard, kneeboard, and a massive waterslide that connects the sundeck to the sea. The paddleboards and kayaks allow for gentler pursuits, while the GoCycle E-bikes mean the adventures can continue on land. ALTA’s 37’ Intrepid Tender and 15’ Novurania Rescue Boat make quick trips to the port for shopping or sightseeing a breeze and access the remote beaches and tucked away coves both the Mediterranean and Caribbean are famous for.
With a shallow 7’3” draft, ALTA is primed to access smaller ports and boutique anchorages that make a charter vacation memorable. Add to that impeccable service from an enthusiastic and professional team nine, and you have all the making of an exceptional charter experience.
