VARNEBANK is a distinctive 23.8-metre Dutch-built expedition yacht originally constructed as a North Sea trawler and later transformed into a highly capable long-range explorer. Built by Van der Molen in 1965 and comprehensively converted to yacht standards during a three-year refit in the Netherlands completed in 2007, she offers proven offshore pedigree combined with timeless craftsmanship.
Constructed with a robust steel hull and full-displacement form, VARNEBANK is designed for confidence and independence at sea. Powered by a single Mitsubishi diesel engine, she cruises efficiently at 8.6 knots and offers an impressive range of up to approximately 4,800 nautical miles, making her ideal for extended and remote voyages. Her simple, reliable systems and economical operation make her especially appealing to experienced owner-operators.
Accommodation is arranged for up to 10 guests in five staterooms, including a full-beam owner’s suite aft and four additional guest cabins forward. The interior reflects classic Dutch character, featuring Herreshoff-style ceilings, leather seating, and beautifully finished cherry and mahogany joinery throughout, creating a warm and authentic atmosphere.
With naval architecture and exterior design by Pieter Beeldsnijder and a proven conversion pedigree, VARNEBANK stands as a true offshore voyager. For owners seeking autonomy, character, and serious seakeeping capability, she represents a compelling and rare opportunity
