A high-performance world cruiser with an unmatched regatta pedigree, BEQUIA is a 91-foot yawl built in 2009 by the revered Brooklin Boat Yard in Maine. Offered for sale by her original owner and longtime captain, she represents an opportunity to acquire a classically styled, competition-proven yacht that has been professionally maintained and consistently upgraded. Designed by Stephens Waring Yacht Design with inspiration from Joel White’s legendary aesthetic, BEQUIA combines traditional craftsmanship with advanced engineering. She is listed at an asking price that reflects her exceptional build, condition, and race-winning record.
BEQUIA was conceived to cruise the world and win regattas along the way, and she’s done both. Her cold-molded hull is composed of Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, and Sipo Mahogany, reinforced with biaxial fiberglass and West System epoxy. She features a shoal fin keel with a 43,000lb lead shoe, and a carbon fiber spade rudder for responsive handling. Her sail plan is engineered for performance: Southern Spars carbon masts and Future Fibers EC6 carbon standing rigging, serviced in 2025, support her up-to-date North Sails inventory for both racing and cruising. In-boom furling on both main and mizzen allow for efficient sail handling, and she can be sailed nearly singlehanded if desired.
In fall 2025, BEQUIA underwent a thorough round of technical service and upgrades to key systems. This included new house and engine starter batteries, replacement of all black and grey water sump pumps (including the macerator), and installation of a new air conditioning chiller and fan coil system. The fuel transfer pump was replaced, and the main salon furniture was reupholstered. Her masts and booms were fully disassembled and serviced, with high-load areas inspected using ultrasonic NDT (non-destructive testing) techniques. Cosmetic updates included localized paint touchups to the topsides.
Below deck, BEQUIA offers a warm, inviting interior that blends traditional New England style with practical seafaring design. Her pilothouse provides 360-degree views through finely proportioned windows, with surrounding lounges ideal for relaxing underway. The salon features Douglas fir joinery, a custom-built fireplace, and thoughtful touches such as a built-in loveseat and Wallace sofa. Forward, the galley is fully equipped for gourmet cooking at sea and provides seamless access to the crew spaces and captain’s cabin aft. Accommodations include a full-beam owner’s stateroom aft with ensuite bath, a forward guest cabin with twin berths and private head, and an additional single guest/crew cabin midships.
Exterior living is equally well-considered. Her classic yawl profile and varnished pilothouse evoke a timeless elegance, while her modern functionality includes a hydraulically operated side boarding platform, cleverly concealed in the topsides, that serves as both a tender dock and a swim platform. A hydraulic arm deploys the primary anchor from a flush deck locker, keeping her clean lines uninterrupted. A Novurania tender with 50hp outboard is stored in custom carbon fiber chocks. Dive gear for six and two folding bikes round out her adventure capabilities.
BEQUIA’s race record speaks for itself: victories at the Candy Store Cup, America’s Cup Superyacht Regatta, Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta, and Antigua Classic, among others. Her systems have been freshly updated with new batteries, AC and refrigeration, and soft goods in late 2025. With only one owner and one professional captain since launch, she is in turnkey condition and ready for her next chapter.
A singular yacht for a sailor who values performance, heritage, and elegance in equal measure, BEQUIA is a rare find in today’s market.
